The greatest achievement I have so far gained in my life is over the summer I travelled to Ecuador, South America to volunteer at Yana Cocha Wildlife rescue centre for exotic pets and miss-treated animals. I stayed for 1 month, during which time I gained many important life skills, as well as bettering my management skills towards the last part of my trip. Over the course of the month my responsibilities included cutting and weighing out the correct diets for each different animal, cleaning out their cages thoroughly, replenishing their food every day, restoration work throughout the centre which involved giving the animals new saw-dust, fixing cages, carrying gravel from the entrance of the centre to wherever it was needed.

Part of my time at the centre involved enrichment with the animals to help build back their natural instinct so that hopefully one day they could be released into the wild. This included making cricket tubes out of bamboo where we would drill holes for the crickets to hide and give the shoots to the primates to help them understand how they would find food in the wild.

In the future I am hoping to become a conservationist.
